FAQ

Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral. You can call or email and Kylie will book you in for the next available appointment. It is however worthwhile discussing your feeding concerns with your child’s GP or Paediatrician.

Is there much of a wait to get an appointment?

There is currently a wait for initial assessments and ongoing support. Unfortunately it is difficult to put a time on this as waitlists and needs change. We do offer short notice cancellation appointments, and an ongoing cancellation list.

We have urgent appointments available for babies.

What days are you available?

Appointments are available Tuesday to Saturday.

Appointments are generally one hour in length and are offered between 9 am and 4.30 pm pending on the day and therapist available.

Can I claim a rebate for my appointment?

Private Health Insurance – If you have private health insurance and are covered for Speech Pathology you can claim your rebate on the day of the assessment using HICAPS. The rebate varies depending on the health fund.

Medicare – In order to claim a rebate from Medicare, you need a Chronic Disease Management Plan (formerly known as an Enhanced Primary Care Plan). This is completed by your GP and allows you to claim a rebate for up to five speech pathology sessions. You will need to discuss with the GP if your child is eligible for this plan.

Do you accept NDIS payments?

Yes, we do. We see self and plan managed NDIS clients. We are unfortunately unable to see NDIA managed clients.

To use NDIS funds to pay for your child’s feeding assessment, please ensure you have funds available and allocated.

Do you offer Telehealth services?

Our supports are provided either by face-to-face appointments in our clinic in Gymea or via Telehealth to allow access to families Australia wide.
