FAQ

Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral. You can call or email and Kylie will book you in for the next available appointment. It is however worthwhile discussing your feeding concerns with your child’s GP or Paediatrician.

Is there much of a wait to get an appointment?

There is currently a six to twelve month wait for an initial assessment. I do have urgent appointments available for babies. There is also a cancellation list.

What days are you available?

Appointments are available Tuesday to Saturday. Weekday appointments are between 9 am and 3.30 pm. Saturday appointments are between 9 am and 5 pm.

Can I claim a rebate for my appointment?

Private Health Insurance – If you have private health insurance and are covered for Speech Pathology you can claim your rebate on the day of the assessment using HICAPS. The rebate varies depending on the health fund.

Medicare – In order to claim a rebate from Medicare, you need a Chronic Disease Management Plan (formerly known as an Enhanced Primary Care Plan). This is completed by your GP and allows you to claim $52.95 for up to five speech pathology sessions. You will need to discuss with the GP if your child is eligible for this plan.

Do you accept NDIS payments?

Yes, we do. We see self and plan managed NDIS clients. We are unfortunately unable to see NDIA managed clients.  To use NDIS funds to pay for your child’s feeding assessment, please ensure you have funds available and allocated.

Why is the NDIS rate higher?

All families that are eligible for NDIS are charged the higher NDIS rate. This is due to the complex nature of your child’s feeding difficulties and the additional time spent in communications, both over the phone and via email with other members of your child’s team.
